People Make Games' videos have this real problem where they always approach things from real weird and fucked up angles, which is something I've mentioned in the past. it's especially prevalent in their Roblox video, where they go on and on about how Roblox as a platform is a real mess and a lot of how they handle things comes real close to company scrip

but then they really fail to approach the whole... child labour thing in any serious way. like they go through the whole video talking to people like labour organizers and developers (one of whom is FUCKING ELEVEN YEARS OLD) and the only time they ever go "do you think it's okay for kids to be doing this" is when they are asking THE ELEVEN YEAR OLD. the entire thing dances around the issue of child labour in a way that feels almost deliberate. it really has a strange and unnerving approach to the systems that drive the problem

the disco elysium one isn't much better, to be honest. the way they frame things is just really... kinda gross. the framing really does feel like it's more interested in going "here's why the company itself should have these rights" and feels constantly like it's trying to paint kurvitz in a specific emotional light to justify what happened in places and like... I dunno man, shit feels awful. it feels like it glosses over the real issues of what's happening there and I'm extremely disappointed in both the documentary and the response to it
