big zam is just the panzer viii maus: space edition
I love what big zam represents in the overall context of zeon in 0079 because I'm a NERD
i like the part of "they wanted to drop this on jaburo to raise hell" but development went too long and cost too much to make more than the one
basically the transcript of the whole ramble was this:
like it's real obvious the whole way through how there's loads of parallels between zeon and the nazis, it's unavoidable and it only ramps up the further into 0079 you get
and NOWHERE
fucking NOWHERE is that more obvious than with big zam
because if there's one thing that the nazis were all about, it was hyping up the idea of these oversized war machines that were utterly impractical
and basically were completely fucking useless a lot of the time unless pointed directly at something
so much of the time their production strategy was "let's make it REAL BIG and use it for propaganda" and sometimes it would actually make it into the field
so big zam is basically the panzer viii maus
a big stupid piece of shit that really never had any chance of being practical and was really never going to enter mass production because it was a stupid idea
i love that part of the oyw arms race, ms igloo is like entirely about that kinda thing
