Guardians of the galaxy 3 spoilers I guess? Just rambling reallly
I keep thinking back to guardians of the galaxy vol 3 and how it absolutely sucked ass but not in an at all interesting or fun way. The thing that gets me the most however is the utter confidence with which is presents its ideas. The high evolutionary is just dropped in there like it's a name you're just expected to know, it drops in counter earth like it's just common knowledge, the kill switch thing felt like some characters knew but not others?
It feels like I missed a whole-ass movie or tv series or something and I KNOW it's not the comics it's expecting because comics are still a mess and nobody's really reading them but like it sure feels like a lot of the movie just had a whole missing bunch of related content
But honestly the whole thing reeked of a troubled production? Quill's alcoholism felt handwaved away in the first fucking scene and everything involving gammorah just felt meandering and weird? Not in the sense of navigating a weird relationship but like they just had no idea where they were going with it? Maybe the alcoholism thing was just a joke about how bad an idea fat Thor was? I don't fuckin know
Really the interpersonal relationship stuff between EVERYONE was weird? It was like a halfway step towards flanderization with everyone where they were reduced to their basic traits but were still acting as if they were developed characters with interpersonal relationships? And drax just speaks some random language that doesn't even seem to EXIST but they need that to make sure everyone learns he isn't a complete idiot?
Everything felt weird and disconnected in the same way love and thunder did and it was just really bad? Also how the fuck will starlord return? He's just some guy now
