genuinely, I wish it somehow became an even mildly mainstream thing. I wish it was just mainstream enough that "I'd like to run this locally instead of being Internet of Shit" was just something you'd reasonably expect to see. I wish things like basic home automation were expected to be able to run locally!

but no! everything has to be online all the time forever!! and it sucks!!!
