Even if they ever give updates on the runtime fee I bet they're not going to say anything about raising the yearly per-seat Editor price $1200. That's just been steamrollered. New coke bullshit
They've also implied pretty heavily in other statements that the runtime fee is one of those things where they'll analyse the price yearly and I can't think of many times where that sort of analysis lowered prices
It’s annoyingly as heck - I’m a “Unity Insider” (lol) which basically means I have access to some of their slack channels and get to see some of the communications they put out early for feedback. We saw the runtime fee stuff a day early and told them it was going to a clusterfuck, and oh guess what.
I was actually worried that with Twitter in the state that is is, that there wouldn’t be a big enough backlash so I’m so glad for that! Anyways ever since shouting at then and giving feedback (“this is a stupid idea and here’s 999 reasons why”) has become almost a full time job. I hope all that energy has helped the community cos dang I’m so tired. I hope these changes don’t effect Demonschool, and heck can’t wait to try a new engine for the next thing lol. I'm just extremely mad about all this because I do so much graphics programming stuff in it both on contract and just for fun and now I've spent the last like... coming up on a week and a half watching a chunk of my income and hobby fall apart
