I think it's interesting to see a response to a recent video about The Beginner's Guide say "um actually nobody thought it was real" when I had multiple people get mad at me for saying that it being a metacommentary was obvious especially as you continued playing the game for both the idea that it was obvious and the idea it was metacommentary and not "real"

Looking up the specific one I was remembering, it later got edited to clarify that the writer thought it a framing device but that she thought it was valid for people to think he'd actually stolen someone's games and that people should refund it on Steam if they thought so.

Edit: Right, and the Destructoid review from a different writer makes it clear he believed the setup at first, but realized it was a framing device before the review got posted.
