getting a 1:1 display and telling everyone i'm using it in tate mode. they're mad because they can't prove that i'm lying
who cares, right? how come they don't put vertical monitor on sale?

they do make vertical monitor for sale
buying one, rotating it into landscape, telling everyone it's yoko mode. nobody can argue they just have to sit there and take it
(polarized lenses make it nearly impossible to see most flat panels without rotating)
we have one of these at my workplace and for some reason it plays a nightcore sped up windows 7 startup when you turn it on, but the splash screen says android

do you think, like, the pixels are addressed in such a way that its, like, natively a 1080x1920 monitor? or is it just a regular panel flipped turnways so if you actually wanna use it vertical you have to do that stupid button combo on the keyboard
Hard to say, but I know that it's actually A Thing now to have intrinsically vertical displays, so it's entirely possible that if you plugged one of these panels into an LVDS interface, it would appear in your OS as 1080x1920.
