I fucking hated life is strange and only played it because I felt like I was obligated to because it was gay
life is strange came out in early 2015 and if you remember the general climate around games, representation in games, and everything else, you can kinda see how the game ended up in a sort of battleground area between people who wanted to see themselves in the games they played and the worst fuckin' people you've ever met in your goddamn life. and so in a lot of ways I felt like I was being really passively intimidated out of going "hey, the dialogue in this game sucks shit and it's presented in such an aggressively sanitized way that it feels almost alienating"
like it felt like it was near impossible to point at the game and go "actually I hate this" and so instead I spent a couple years pretending I actually liked it at all when honestly I fucking hated it
