Screenshots from Sea of Stars where a character says:

Oh sure, go ahead and refuse the call so we can all pretend it might not happen. Keep it safe and predictable! Any other tropes you had in mind for yer journey? How about buying linear upgrades from every single town where blacksmiths are somehow increasingly more capable the further up north they live?

Hey remember when Chrono Trigger spends several hours of its plot being a DQ-like fantasy RPG but never goes wink-wink-nudge-nudge about it, instead assuming that if you're playing this kind of game you're in on the joke and are willing to engage with genre tropes in good faith? This sure isn't doing that!

@Iro

no seriously why would you put this dialogue in

i paid money for your fucking game, i know it's a JRPG, getting cute about it does you no favors because it makes it seem like you're ashamed you made a JRPG

please come up with a better use of breaking the 4th wall than bringing attention to how generic your own game is

The drone remote, the most seen object in the game, & counterintuitively one of the most minimally designed objects in the game, is also one of the heaviest, utilizing nearly 200,000 triangles across 3 separate draw calls to render the object every single frame.

Here's a quick breakdown:

  • Body: 36 indices, 12 triangles
  • Button: 73,728 indices, 24,576 triangles
  • Antenna: 479,232 indices, 159,744 triangles

That is 184,332 triangles.

Once it is picked up, you cannot put it away.

It will always be rendered.
