I have to say, I'm actually really enjoying the end of social media that we're experiencing. Either all sites have become so enshittified there is limited reason to browse them anymore (Facebook in particular in my personal experience), or just empires of evil I refuse to interact with (Tumblr, TikTok).
Frankly, Tumblr's AI deal and my resulting quitting that webiste was one of the best things to happen to my online experience recently. Now rather than go there and spend hours browsing a never-ending dashboard, I come here, check out what my select few friends have found interesting (or created), I close the website and I do something else.
If Cohost ever becomes hugely popular I need to remember this and simply keep the number of people I actually follow fairly small.
