Helsinki tram number 150 (ex-Ludwigshafen 150) photographed at Kauppatori, Helsinki in spring 2009. The tram was acquired by Helsinki City Transport in 2004 to test if a double-articulated tram would work on the Helsinki tram network (the results were positive and subsequently 52 pre-existing Helsinki trams were lengthened with a low-floor midsection). The 150 remained in use as a special charter tram until last week, when the city-owned tram company sold it and two other old trams to a scrapyard in all secrecy. The scrapping where halted when the affair became public knowledge, but not before the 150 was scrapped.
