From my discussions with friends who aren't really that deep into all things gender and sexuality, even when they are aware of the identity and they feel like it suits them, they just don't feel the need to use it. And/or feel like demi is the default and think the label serves no purpose because of that.

And to be honest, I also somewhat fall into these categories myself. I already have too many fucking labels, I'm don't want to add yet another one.

Not to be disrespectful to people who identify as demisexual or demiromantic, of course. (But the choice of prefix will never not be funny to me, as Demi was a Finnish magazine aimed at teenagers that came out 1998-2021).
