Unexpected benefits of having changed my legal name: when an electricity salesman calls and asks me if they're talking to my old name, I can just say no and they end the call, rather than having to do the social dance of "no, I'm really not interested in signing a new electricity deal."
A related question: can I use the term deadname if I'm not trans? (Though I do believe in their beliefs).
