i feel like i've found my musical niche in microtonality, it's a really nice feeling

it kind of exploded my conception of what's possible musically, and i'm excited about the practically boundless possibilities it opens up for learning and exploration

i'm so glad i decided to watch a yt video about the çifteli one day, it pulled me down the microtonality rabbit hole and i'm thrilled about it

it's also a big motivator to deepen my theory knowledge and to refresh my math skills, yum delicious ratios :9

I was always interested in microtonality and alternate tunings and stuff, but I'm atrocious at math... I'll stick to counting up to 12 and leave the smart stuff for other musicians, lol

i know very little about microtonality (and music theory generally) but one of my favorite bands (king gizzard and the lizard wizard) have experimented heavily with it and i really really dig the kind of sounds they've created as a result! excited to hear more of your stuff as you explore more!

yeah, they're great! their microtonal albums are Flying Microtonal Banana (of course), K.G., and L.W. their other stuff is definitely worth checking out, though! they dabble in lots of different genres and concepts, and their output is truly staggering. i hope you enjoy!
