while i've used parallel processing many times before with like, dry/wet and sends, this mix marks the first time that i've done it by grouping the instrument on a given track with a copy of itself and blending the signals that way
i think i just was feeling fussy about having a portion of the dry signal panned to where i wanted the effect to go, so i had been using (too many) return tracks to get around that
in reality though i think it sounds fine, and it's nice not having half the screen taken up by return tracks lol
(plus then you can freeze a track with a computationally expensive effect instead of putting it on an unfreezable return track and exploding your CPU)
