soooooooooooo... my intent was to post this in january or so. that was... eight months ago. as always, this is not a ranked list of "the best songs of 2022", and it's not exhaustive. the goal is always to make the best playlist i can with the music and streaming services i have to work with, meaning sometimes music i really loved either doesn't find a place to fit within the playlist or can't make it in due to not being available on the streaming services. besides, doing ranked lists or tier lists just feels weird to me nowadays.
i'm hoping i'll be able to deliver another (normal, not year-end) playlist before the end of the year. not to use this as an excuse, but i ended up off of my normal adhd meds towards the beginning of the year and only got access to them again very recently. losing them basically took away all the gusto i had for working on... well, anything. it also does mean, unfortunately, that i haven't been doing as much actual music listening this year, so i have my work cut out for me, but hopefully i'll have listened to enough good stuff that i'll be able to put together a retrospective for 2023 of at least an hour or so. maybe i'll even be able to revamp the format i'm using for displaying the players and tracklists in these posts to feel a bit nicer.
