one of the things that’s really fun about learning bass so far is guessing who wrote any given song solely on the complexity of the bass line.
if the person who wrote the song isn’t a bassist you end up with 3-4 minute song that you can learn in about 30 seconds. whereas stuff written by a bassist you need to spend like an hour playing over phrase by phrase/measure by measure. and like i find both fun to a degree, but there is something so special about feeling the more complicated stuff actually start to click into place even if it is a pain in the ass and way more tedious
