apparently when you order more expensive instruments from sweetwater they send u a bunch of high res images of the exact one you’re getting before it’s shipped out?
i decided since i’ve been playing a shit load and have zero intention on slowing down i’d order a big girl long scale bass with modern electronics that i’ve been eyeing up for a couple months. i got to try this model in a different finish at a local shop last month and was sold on wanting one immediately, it just felt so nice to play. super hyped to get it sometime this week tbh
i need to record the sound with something that’s not my phone, it just picks up way too much string noise lol
i’ve only had it a few days now and it’s definitely my favorite feeling instrument to play that i’ve ever been able to use. the only thing i’m not super big on is the huge number of knobs and switches for the controls and that the manual that came with it is just a generic ibanez bass one so it only really explains basic stuff and no specifics on the model (it’s literally the same exact pamphlet that came with my first ibanez).
i’ve kinda had to experiment to figure it out. the two bigger knobs are the output volume and blend between the neck and bridge pickups. the switch next to them toggles between passive pickups and using the built in preamp/equalizer. i’m pretty sure the three smaller knobs are bass/mid/treble and the three position switch next to them i’m honestly not sure. i can’t really perceive the difference in the sound when trying the different positions.
meanwhile my first bass was just neck pickup volume, bridge pickup volume and tone. so it’s a bit more overwhelming with the variety of fine adjustments to the tone that i can choose. regardless i absolutely love this thing
edit: after more searching than it should have taken i’m correct about the knobs. the three position switch apparently adjusts the midpoint to three different set frequencies which explains why i couldn’t hear anything because i scoop mids on the amp so it’s just the high and low end
