i really need to get a new audio interface at some point. this one picks up some sort of static and i have to use the denoising tool in my daw and it just makes it sound so much more murky than i want

here's an example of what it sounds like without the de-noising (different song, cause ope i forgot to save the .wav before de-noising that last one and i still suck at that riff/one of my fingers hurts so i don't wanna play it rn lmao).

this is the same exact signal chain, the static is super noticeable but also the actual tone sounds way better to my ear at least. the de-noising in this daw is supposed to sample the noise in a section of just the static then algorithmically remove the corresponding frequencies in the rest of the recording. what i think is happening is that the static noise is all over the frequency spectrum and it's a little too agro and chopping out some of the overtones in like the mids and highs making it sound so much more crummy. i tried dialing it in but i can't seem to find a balance that keeps the really warm tone that i like playing with without still hearing that static, so yeah might need to replace the interface i think. fun bassline tho, from show me how by men i trust!
