my parents, despite both being libs, occasionally watch the local fox news channel for weather and sports because it lines up well with their nightly routine. i was watching a bit with them last night and fucking hell the absolute dichotomy of narratives in some of the stuff they talk about is so strange.
they were saying gen z are bad employees and then claiming that they show up to interviews with parents and underdressed and all this other just “my friend told me” sorta anecdotal stuff. right after a segment about how caring for your mental health is important in winter especially if ur neurodivergent and literally used the term neurodivergent. just a segment with what feels like genuine empathy for people followed by “yeah fuck those genz, they’re the problem with this country” is so surreal to me.
