one piece of audio gear that i've always kind of wanted since like high school is the teenage engineering op-1. it seems like the perfect way to get the functionality of like a daw without the 10s of millions of options that are super overwhelming. it also has a bunch of tape recording effect plugins built in and my lofi sound loving ass digs that. it's just really hard to justify what is effectively a raspberry pi w/ a bunch of switches and proprietary software in a shiny case for 2000$ tho
