just a quick pack yesterday on the ripsqueak 3" build to test out the PID tune (spoiler alert it's not great :). aside from tune the torque on these motors kinda sucks ass on any kind of punch or recovery with this frame being heavier than the racing toothpick i had them on before. might need to either try a 3 cell battery instead of the 2 cells i have now and hope i don't burn the motors or maybe have to pick up some beefier motors
i do still have a set of 1507 motors from my original cinewhoop that are in fairly good condition. they’re like 5x the stator volume so it should be a substantial increase to the torque but they’re rated for 4 cells and all together the additional weight of the bigger motors and big battery would go way over the 250g line. and like i’m not sure if that’s the play since the goal with this quad is to keep it as lightweight as possible so i feel safer using it in locations that i’d be sketched out using my full 5” 1ish kg quad. THAT SAID, the flight characteristics might be cool with the weight more distributed across the frame so IDK YET ABDHJKAKAJDBDNFKGKEJAAH
