i was discussing politics stuff with some coworkers relating to unions and how health insurance companies should be removed and replaced with a socialized system. this one coworker in her early thirties who’s a liberal had asked me what my political belief is and i told her i’m a socialist (even tho i’m more so a syndicalist but literally every time i’ve told someone that they have literally no clue what it means). she’d asked what i thought of the current government which is already pretty socialist to which i just went “do you know what socialism is?”

apparently she thought socialism is authoritarianism and i had to explain no that’s not the case and that the american government has been like the main enemy of socialism since literally the inception of the ideology

i might have an in at a nearby hospital for a inpatient pharmacy gig >:)

it would be a nice pay raise and no longer having to deal with the corporate nightmare hellscape retail pharmacy company that makes me dread coming to work and finding out what changes they’re implementing to further fuck over workers and patients in the chase for number go up.

a really interesting thing i’ve noticed about the communities surrounding my two main hobbies is how differently a lot of people in each kinda talk about gear/equipment. like people in the fpv community will drop a video essay dissertation on why 2306 motors from a physics standpoint are better for freestyle than 2207s but tell you to use whatever you vibe with most at the end of the day. then you’ll find a reddit comment where someone’s telling you if you don’t play on a pre 1954 fender p bass with a tube amp that you paid a combined 20000$ on you’re not really a bassist

so my rural/suburban town of just over 20k people has two walgreenseses on the same road that are separated by about a 5-10 minute drive depending upon traffic / the time of day.

this woman comes to mine today wanting her script that was filled and ready to go at the other one in town. she was told this and wanted it filled here instead. my coworker who was working with her went to check and see if we even had the medication in stock and we didn’t. so she tells the patient this and that it would be at least a day for us to order it in and the patient said yeah go for it.

so instead of just, driving from her house to our pharmacy and over to the one that actually has it all ready to go, she’d rather go home wait at least a day and drive back here. and the goofiest shit is that this is a pretty regular occurrence with different patients lmao. it literally just does not make sense to me
