I just got done with a very long meeting where I had to explain that empathy isn't the ultimate goal of storytelling. Folks, I am so tired of the way storytellers and their craft and knowledge get treated. We are necessary and everyone hates that. We can do magical things and everyone hates that.
This isn't to say that magic is restricted to specific people, anyone can become a storyteller, even a good storyteller. But it takes some humbling and a lot of practice to get there. Things people can't or don't want to do.
I don't know, I'm so tired of having to explain basic things to people over and over again while also being told that what I do and the knowledge I have isn't prestigious or high impact enough
