why is every desktop OS such garbage
- mac: if you try to run software that wasn't sanctioned by Apple I will literally die
- windows: do you want a side of ads with your ads
- linux: you can choose between two desktop environments! they were created by the two entrenched sides in a 30-year holy war between people who think there should be a configuration menu for everything, and people who think there should not be a configuration menu for anything
An addendum on linux, there are also the people that want everything to be as minimal as humanly possible and the people that got mad at the people who hate configuration menus but also hate the everything is configuration menus people
