A lot of socialist and communist organizations have done their level best to drag the idea of class struggle through the mud by not actually understanding the implications of it, and conversely a lot of the left outside those orgs have in some sense rejected it for the exact same reason.

The fact of the matter is this: The elimination of white supremacy male chauvinism, queer and transphobia of all kinds, ableism and all other forms of bigotry and repression are not in conflict with class struggle, nor are they "parallel", they're integral. It's one fight and has to be. As other people have said: The working class is black and indigenous and poc and queer and women and disabled. Volkisch "socialism" is just fascism with a welfare state, as we well know.

The ruling class has always had room for one or two "exceptional" minoritized people. They will happily sell the myth that you and I can earn our way into being the oppressors. Reactionary "socialists" trick themselves into basically the same lie, but from the opposite end: We can earn our way into the "real" (white, male, cishet, able-bodied, barely exists) working class. Both of these are nonsense, and positioned against each other reveal how they're both false, and what class war actually means: You have nothing to earn. Your liberation and place in the world is yours by right and has been taken from you. We can take it back.

in one DSA chapter an argument from the righter wing was that we had to focus on big projects that involved everyone because of the numbers (so, never taking on critical projects that were too small because they affected singular minorities).

Just them completely not understanding that you can't build anything substantial on a foundation riddled with holes you didn't bother to help fix, even if we ignore the implicit racism there.

one struggle one fight because anything else is ignoring deferred maintenance at best
