aaaahhh i'm so freaking excited right now! I live in MA, a great place for winter sports, and my partner and roommate both enjoy participating. Right now, they're leaving on a week long ski-trip, and I, the floridian expat without gear or experience, is staying here, taking care of the kitty, keeping the home fires burning.
but!!!! i got kind of sick of being left out, and I've just finished over 100 sessions of really intense PT on my back and legs and knees, so I decided to take a trip to the ortho, to get some new scans of my knees (tricompartmental OA in both, patellar instability, worse in the left) - and GUESS WHAT!!!!!
all the hard work has paid off, and the ortho cleared me to learn how to ski!!!!!!!!! I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED Y'ALL! she advised me to take it slow, wear my knee braces, and let pain be my guide if I'm doing too much, but oh shit, this kid from the sunshine state is gonna learn how to glide on the snow!
next big ski trip, I'M GOIN' WITH!
