I got quite a bit of vocal training! ...In how to not sound shrill when accessing the upper part of my range. NOT super applicable to getting the lower part of my range. Literally a different mechanism! Haha whoops!

I do really recommend singing along with vocal warmups and stuff while your voice is changing, so you don't like. Lose access to any part of it. I still have a relatively decent hold on my old alto/mezzo range? Even though it sounded like shiiiiit for like. Four years lmao. The limited information I could find on retaining your range while going through testosterone therapy suggested "don't stop singing" and "pay attention to whether that's normal soreness or You're Hurting Yourself soreness".

It was, of course, all directed towards keeping little boys interested in singing through their voice dropping, but like. Aimed at choir teachers. But whatever! It worked!

yeah I've been trying to do gentle warmups and voice exercises as many days as I can manage it.
At this point on a good day I can sound pretty good singing along to Stan Rogers, which is neat, and I can sing along with Johnny Cash unless it's one of the songs that goes suuuuper low, which is a trip. Anything higher is.... I think I can get that range back but right now I have to focus on "hit notes accurately without straining" and that's determined on a day by day basis.
I really should probably figure out if I can fit a twice a month voice coach into the budget...
