"I used to take a 'fuck around and find out' approach. WASTE EATER was the first game where I knew what I wanted to do before I wrote a single line of code, and it's the first game I managed to publish. It's forced me to reconsider my development style," @cain says.

"It's a 15 minute game about a dying mutant in a solarpunk world. It explores anarchist ideas of building a better world from the perspective of someone who's no longer able to enjoy it."

"I got this overwhelming feeling that I was sacrificing my own wellbeing for the possibility of building a world I'd never get to see. WASTE EATER was a way for me to work through those feelings, and I'm happy with the answers the game gave me."

"I wish people knew less about game design. I want to see stranger, more dissonant works," cain says.
