The only one I really know off the top of my head though is Super Real Mahjong. At least I think it's 1v1. Of course, there's a bunch of arcade ones and those are the ones I really want to play against.
they cheat so, so much lol. for both you and your opponent. mostly in ways where they're trying to make it exciting, so often they set both you and your opponent up with really fucked up high scoring hands that fill out suspiciously quickly.
Ohhhh that's interesting! That'd be a good way to up the gambler's fallacy and throw more quarters into the machine if you feel like your hands have been good, just barely short. Especially if they led you in with the first few tease hands.
you can find like, every one of them that exists in the arcade on the internet archive (they're in a collection called The Mahjong Parlor). though most of those you'd need an emergency screen swap for. a lot of those games also hit the sega saturn but i dont have any specific ones to recommend.
