i finished outer wilds today. it's been said by many other people but that game truly is something special... i already wish that i could forget everything about it and play it again with a fresh mind.
there are so many fun moments in the game of discovering something cool that changes your understanding of the solar system and how to interact with it, and it's ALL stuff that you could just accidentally stumble into without understanding how it works.
you can brute force or come up with alternate solutions to a lot of the game's puzzles and that's really cool! there were lots of moments where i came up with a weird idea, tried it out, and felt like a genius when it actually worked. it works so well with the game's themes of curiosity and discovery.
i think a friend of mine who recommended the game to me said it best: "it's basically a metroidvania where instead of gaining abilities you learn about things you could always do".
i really recommend it if you like exploring and discovering things. the parts of me that used to be really into space stuff and archaeology had a blast with this game. the writing is really nice too, with the conclusion of both the main game and DLC feeling really satisfying and also making me cry. gonna be thinking about this one forever probably
