for a hot moment we thought that they'd have negative mass or react negatively (as in, fall up) to gravity but we found out that anti-hydrogen does in fact fall down.
anyways we use antimatter elements in PET scans regularly.
remember E=mc²? yeah that's the rate it explodes at
Antimatter is not identical to matter! Due to CP-violation in weak interactions, neutral meson and antimeson branching fraction ratios for the same decays aren't reciprocals of one another, i.e. matter and antimatter respectively decay into a given set of particles and equivalent antiparticles at different rates
wait so if I'm understanding this right, that means they're mostly the same? Like there could (hypothetically, of course) just be some guy made out of antimatter and as long as they never interacted with regular matter you could never tell without complex lab equipment?
Unless a small difference in particle decay frequency somehow upended biochemistry, yeah
new headcannon: whenever anyone refers to "evil character" it's just the exact same person but made of antimatter (or regular matter if the character's already made of anitmatter)
