"youre saying i just have to ride out here, mow some grass every week or so, and its like a hundred kay a month?"
"yup. its a very important field."
"worth 100k to keep the grass trim? we're miles out from a city. is it secretly a nuclear silo or something?"
"nope. Youll see"
after several hours of switchback roads, the mountain roads leveled out and drowned in trees.
"We're here"
the trees parted and on one side of the road was the field. the extremely normal looking field. slightly overgrown grass, tall flowers, bordered by the trees, maybe 4 or 5 acres.
"ok, seems fine enough."
"this is the electromagnetic field"
"what, like the science thing?"
"yes. its that field"
"...what do you mean?"
"any time anyone does something with the electromagnetic field, theyre looking at this field"
"the scientist, in their labs miles away, are looking at THIS field?"
"yup. Its all this field"
as if to punctuate his statement, an enormous ball of lightning and a rainbow of other glows formed over the field, striking out at random nearby things before vanishing just as quickly.
"looked like cern to me. Anyway, have fun. Watch your head. Keep your hat on and youll be fine. Ill be taking a nap if you need me"
