One consequence of being homeschooled during elementary school grades is that the only way I ever learned to do division is "long division."
I do not actually know what the other way to do division is. wtf is short division
no that's exactly how it works in public school they call it long division and then don't teach any other division
It's just memorization, fthe same way "short multiplication" is just memorizing multiplication tables.
no you gotta try short division it's fire (is something I would say if anyone had any reason to work out division problems on paper)
it's occuring to me I maybe never learned long division
ok so I'm pretty sure short division is just long division with some of the on-paper steps taken out and converted into mental math but otherwise it's the same process
