You can feel it tingling in your limbs after a minute. Zhe lab coated furry...thing is all you can describe them as fills out some form on their clipboard. You raise your arm to examine it, figuring the electric feeling wouldnt be visible.
But it was. Your skin rippled, changed colours, grew tiny hairs, then reverted for a half of a second before starting again. Purple fur. Bird claw scales. Rubbery blue grey. It was entirely painless, just shimmering through all the different forms. You look up at the doctor, who is watching you watch yourself. they smiled warmly.
"Feeling ok?" they asked. you nodded. You could feel the tingle of its effects in more places. your scalp. your shoulder. your crotch. if you were entirely naked, you could have watched the test process shimmering through you. you were satisfied with your two mismatched arms, each going through their own process. You felt like it should, burn? feel cold? your surface nerves were just. neutral.
And then it stopped. You look concerned at the doctor. She continues to smile at you. You feel slightly anxious. and then all at once, you feel a burst of the painless tingling.
And then youre Right. Your proper form. You never told them, but you know its right. Every nerve is telling you its the right shape, for once.
