It's 5,300 words of the most normal cuddling possible.

Featuring: a catdragon! And neuroscience!

And it's a totally different kind of interactive than CYOA's or anything like that! It's about immersion, but like, literally so — projecting the written descriptions onto your own senses, much more directly and explicitly than stories usually do. It's awesome.

I'm also obsessing over the dialogue style and writing in general here. It's very real and done warmly-so. Katja still owns so much.

On a personal note, I've always loved cuddling but due to some not-so-fun traumatic stuff that went down a year or two ago, it's been much more challenging to engage with for me. Cuddles used to form an association with sexual feelings, and those are what got blipped the heck off my "this is OK" cognitive watchdog whitelist.

So I'm quite deeply pleased to read a story which is about cuddles that are enthrallingly erotic but distinctly non-sexual (unless you want them to be! the story is very multi-compatible!) — thanks to that, and the ever-present gentle emphasis on safety and willingness to continue, it's a story that is sincerely comfortable to me in a way almost nothing else I've had recent experience with quite matches. It's lovely!

Thanks for sharing your story here Katja!!

Thank you thank you thank you, I love this so, so, so much. I think my favourite thing about this is just, like, how gentle and affirming it treats the reader? I’ll have to remember some of the things you did for my own writing. Second favourite being that I have actually been to this exact building.

Peace and carrots! 🥕🐇❤️❤️❤️

aaaaaaaheck

Yeah! I wanted to write a second person kind of thing that both reflects Katja's personality (they're pretty diligent about getting properly informed consent, and also just really soft with most people) and doesn't have any, like, sudden second-person narration that some readers might be caught off guard by? So!!

(Also, what's actually in that building? I've yet to be in it.)

If it’s the warehouse with the red roof, that’s the aquabus company. ;) On another note… I wonder how much she pays for rent…

Mm, but that’s disregarding the butterfly effect of having all kinds of furs running around. I think that if I met her, I’d just like to snuggle, and maybe get some headpets. Your writing really does make her sound super soft and sweet. If I still lived in Calgary, maybe we’d have a chance of brushing tails at Fur-Eh or something…

Ah, no, it's not that warehouse! …and I wouldn't have clue. ghfjggfh I'm pretty sure the federal government is the landlord there, via CMHC, and they definitely have rules for who can even operate there other than "Who's willing to pay us rent?".

And yes! Yeah, they're very alright with just getting cuddly and soft rather than getting even just ↑↑↑ that kind of intense. =w=

i left MOST of my thoughts in a boost but something I totally forgot to mention: the scenery writing during the introduction is REALLY COOL. Almost mind's eye type writing, which works really well for priming and sharpening your own physical senses (as the reader), helping you settle into the world before Katja really digs into your own senses — same deal when you first meet them & approach & enter their place, precise observations of the setting and their own movements double up: getting your own brain-nerves pent up for the upcoming neuroscience cuddles AND delectable descriptions of your favorite reality-shattering catdragon

Oh, oh oh oh! This was a positively delightful read. This might sound strange but it feels like I lost track of everything around me while I was reading, and that was wonderful!

Overall, it’s well paced and delightfully descriptive, especially for something that touches on subjects that we know exceedingly little about!

Thank you so much for sharing! 💗

This is probably one of the nicest compliments I've ever gotten about my writing? Oh my gosh??

,,,,,,,,,,,

I'm really, really glad that it… works that well for you. Heck. That's seriously, really, heck.
