cool i guess mojang basically just deleted ash's ownership of their game because they didn't "migrate their account" in time. love the permanent rental era where a company can just steal its product back from you. cool

annoying thing is that this isn't even the only company doing this. when destiny 2 went from activision/blizzard over to being independent and being on steam, i think there was maybe a year-window for you to transfer your account before blizzard just dumped everything into the trash. i know multiple ppl that lost like multiple hundreds of hours of progress in an MMO because of this kind of bs. so like. whaddahell

I'd had a copy of Minecraft from the days of the public alpha and yet because I just didn't pay attention for a while, I no longer have it! I liked Minecraft enough to fire it up every once in a while, but I severely do not care enough to spend MORE MONEY to reacquire a game I paid for 15+ years ago!!!

idk what it says about me that I'd rather stay mad than just sigh and pony up the thirty dollars or whatever lmao

I'm sure if you can provide proof of previous ownership, someone at the company would be happy to drop a code. I had a friend go through something similar and all it took was talking to a human and they understood the plight. Not foolproof, of course, cuz getting the chance to talk to a human support person in today's day and age aint so easy, but if you give it a go, I'm sure it'll work out
