i think when it comes to disability rep, i think a critically underrepresented demographic is people who have to use inappropriate aids for their disability due to lack of resources. like dmgw in the slightest having the correct aids is always a good thing to show, but on the other hand i think it could really add some interesting dynamics and depth to a character to see them have to accommodate an aid that doesnt fully accommodate them.
somebody who cant afford a wheelchair so they use a rolling walker. cane users who really should have crutches. a deaf person who doesn't know sign/is still learning it bc they communicated mostly through writing previously, etc. im sure ppl who are smarter than me on this topic could elaborate more but i do think its worth discussing. disabled people often have to work with inappropriate aids in real life so i think its worth writing about in fiction.
