so is this just how companies are going to do things forever now? make ill-advised changes to their services and/or ToS that are obviously going to piss off their customers and only walk them back (or just don't lmao) when the pitchforks come out?

i mean i suppose this kind of behavior isn't exactly anything new but it sure feels like there's been a massive uptick in companies taking a whole-ass shotgun to their foot as of late

i really do hope something changes, because i just don't see how this approach would benefit anyone in the short-term or long-term, for companies or consumers. discord in particular has really saddened me as someone that's used it for years and just watched it slowly deteriorate into the same problems as every other company.
