i fucking loathe how Amazon groups multiple completely different products on one page as "styles". the selected item here is a USB ethernet adapter, the kind one might connect to a Switch dock to get ethernet functionality because Nintendo was too cheap to put a port on the dock itself. so does that mean "4 port" is some weird monstrosity with 4 ethernet ports so you can transfer data at 4 gigabits or something?? nope, it's a 4 port USB hub, which... has no ethernet ports! at all! it's a completely different device!

putting these two wildly different products under one listing also means the reviews for both items are combined, which is complete fucking nonsense why would you do something this stupid??????????

They do this so that they can stuff bad products with good reviews. There's a huge problem with some vendors just like completely changing out what item is being sold on a listing by adding a new "variation" that's completely different then deleting the original variation.

also this is a TP-Link listing, it links to their official store and everything, you'd think they would be a touch more well-behaved than your average sixletter entity but i guess not

Yesterday I finally received a package from amazon that I’d been waiting for, and the package was totally empty. like it was fulfilled by Amazon and all I received was an empty envelope from Amazon. and the envelope wouldn’t have been big enough to contain the item. And apparently the specific variation of the item I ordered had a tendency for this to happen.

I have no idea how vendors can tell Amazon that an item is fulfilled as empty air with no physical item involved. Like there wasn’t even a “we frauded you” piece of paper or a packet of seeds or anything. Just air, and not even that much air.
