in case you missed it, i debuted my new pngtuber avatar on my birthday stream yesterday! she has all the same animations and facial expressions as before, but with even more frames and details: her mouth movements are more varied and elaborate, her glasses go crooked when she's shocked or dizzy, her tail wags when she's happy, and she can shift her gaze between the viewer and the game she's currently playing!
she was originally supposed to debut along with an entirely new low-res stream layout and overhauled avatar interaction system, but work on that stalled months ago, and i really didn't want all the work i'd put into this little gremlin to go to waste. adapting her to my current layout and interaction system still took a ton of work (i had to flip and rework all her animations, recreate some accessories and visual effects, and then update all the scripting to point to the new OBS sources), but it was all worth it in the end! i'm so happy with how she turned out, and i got many lovely compliments from many lovely viewers :3
there's still a handful of things to tweak and fix, but these should be a lot easier to handle going forward, given her low-res nature; having to drag out the drawing tablet and work with dozens of crusty old layers and fixes on top of fixes really sucked the fun out of updating her old model x_x
a face for every occasion~
