i think the Jen avatar is largely done! just gotta figure out where to put the hair stripe (if i decide to keep it at all). i also made a handful of close-up shots, one of which i liked enough to give the full shading treatment (the actual animated avatar will not be quite this detailed lmao)

here's a sneak preview of a new avatar and layout i've been working on for my Twitch streams! as much as i love my current setup, it's getting a little long in the tooth and has become Extremely Unwieldy and Unpleasant to work with behind the scenes, the result of years of accumulated cruft and dumb workarounds for even dumber problems. (my friggin' Kruiz-Control script file is over five thousand lines long, y'all!!) this new setup is much simpler and easier to update/maintain, and has also been a TON of fun to work on, which is maybe the most important thing to me.

i don't have any immediate plans to retire the old setup, but it is probably going to get fewer updates and doodads in the coming months as i shift my attention to this one. while many of the current channel point rewards probably won't survive the transition (as fun as they are, some of them have been a source of much technical frustration and stress), i can assure you there will be a bunch of fun new toys to play with and ways to dunk on my stinky digital avatar, as is tradition in Rachel Streams. i wouldn't have it any other way.

HUGE thanks to everyone that's supported me during this difficult year, whether it be financially, socially, or just by hanging out and watching my streams; y'all kept me sane through some extremely trying times. here's to a brighter and even fuzzier 2024!
