i had a sudden urge to draw an "extremely casual" Rachel, wearing something closer to what i'd wear irl. it feels like it's been a whole-ass age since i had the energy to draw anything

i took advantage of today's downtime to put the finishing touches on this. working with the NES palette is kinda tough, but fun! (though there's no way you could fit this within the rest of the console's limitations, lol)
(someone in my Discord said that this character looked like they should be selling skateboards, and everything kinda snowballed from there lol)
meet Tara "T" Saunders (she/they, "but don't sweat it"), the proprietor of the Terrible Hole, a literal hole in the side of a run-down building that she single-handedly transformed into Foxglen's premier skate shop. with nearly two and a half decades of experience under her studded belt, she can teach you all there is to know about the Kickin' Rad world of skateboarding, and then some. she'll even offer you a steep discount on the board of your choice if you can beat her in a race down Breakneck Hill! just don't show up wearing a badge, unless you really like the taste of fingerless gloves.

i need to just sit down and doodle without a specific goal more often. just plop down some pixels and file off the rough edges and see what comes out

decided to revisit this and punch it up all fancy-like. i used my entire 16-color palette!!
the temptation to make this another proper character is Strong
