Romero has also been very loud and proud of his Yaqui and Cherokee heritage and brought up the infamous legacy of forced haircuts on indigenous people in the 1900's, hence why he keeps his hair long and cared for and derides people who mocked his long hair since the 90's.
This has been a good factor as to why I've been more loud and learning about my Ojibwe heritage.
