Unicorn mode in these shots, gonna test some Cohost tech and try to share Destroy mode in a share after I save this draft.
Well that didn't quite work but here's Destroy mode shots. I really liked building this kit though it's definitely more tricky and has far more quirks than anything I've built yet. Very happy with how it came out though.
More thoughts below the jump.
Okay this is a weird ass kit. It's a Gundam Base Limited kit, purchased by a friend visiting Japan for 13,200 JPY, ($92 USD at time of writing). It's somewhere between 3-5 Unicorns stapled together with the weapons and gear from each. Main body is based on the original MG Unicorn Ver.Ka from 2007, featuring Armed Armor VN and BS (left and right arms, respectively) from Banshee, Armed Armor XC (dark blue parts on the back) from Banshee Norn, Armed Armor DE (shields and tails on the back) from Phenex, and the Armed Armor HJ (lance ((not handjob))) from Full Armor Unicorn. Don't worry that's the only time I'm gonna type out the full names. It also comes with the standard Unicorn Beam Magnum, two spare magazines, and Hyper Bazooka.
As this is a limited run product and not mass-produced, it is mostly made of re-used runners from the earlier Unicorn variants. As far as I can tell only two new runners were printed for this kit, mostly for adapting the Phenex parts onto the backpack from Norn. Of the 41 runners, 19 of them had spare parts left. There are two whole runners reprinted for different horn/v-fin colors. [Note: many of the runners in this kit are small, with less than ten parts.]
This leaves me with enough spare armor for four heads, three calves, and one waist, some spare psycho-frame, and a full fuel tank. Mostly all the spare parts makes me think I could've saved a bit on what I paid to have this guy shipped stateside but that's neither here nor there. Might have something fun in the works with all that.
It's also the least stable kit I've built so far, it just refuses to stand on its own and it has the worst action base adapter I've seen. I currently have it displayed in Unicorn mode resting on the stabilizers for extra support. I'll probably do another shoot with better lighting but I honestly don't wanna really do the whole transformation again for a while at least.
