Skybs is a Caelian handyman specializing in underwater electrical work who likes to grab a drink at the Ox & Carriage when they're off the clock. They do all kinds of maintenance work but they are particularly well regarded for their combination of plumbing and wiring ability, a useful skillset synergy to have in the water-breather community. Despite their work being mostly wet, Skybs has a pretty dry personality; they don't really "get" jokes and will often respond to them by correcting the joke-teller's misassumptions so they're better informed in the future. It's annoying but it's well-meaning and not malicious so other people often let it slide. In addition to factual accuracy Skybs is also a big sports fan with a keen eye for small details that might lean towards one team's victory over another. They place the occasional bet and rarely lose, so their friends often invite them to big sport-watching parties and place their own bets accordingly.

  • Skybs can be hired to perform any sort of HVAC, Plumbing or Electrical work on homes or starships.
  • Skybs is looking to hire an apprentice. Applicants must have ample patience and sharp attentiveness.

One of the more remarkable sections of Titan Garden is the C-District, or the "aquatic district", a big enclosed underwater section of the station where Europans, Caelians and aquatic Terrans keep their homes. While all these species have their own ways of operating outside the water and mingling with air-breathers, it's nice to have a home of your own and accommodations for your needs. Of course, being a handmade construct there are lots of little moving parts and lots of ways for those parts to malfunction, so Skybs serves a lot of house calls in the C-District. Water oxygenation needs to be cycled and aquatic homes need power for their lights, and while there are special dangers to working with power lines in a watery environment Caelians' natural affinity for electricty and electromagnetism make them particularly well-suited to the task.

In addition to servicing homes, Skybs is often hired to perform maintenance on starships as well as Caelian rebreather harnesses and Europan evo suits. The rebreathers are easy work- the most complex element about them are the chemical extractor fins that reoxygenate their water supplies- but the evo suits, hoo boy, Skybs loves to tinker with a Europan evo suit! They love to install new filtration systems or wire in a new computer board or set up new hoses. It's a much less subtle solution to the air breather problem than what Caelians like themself have come up with but being able to open one up and tinker around with it is just a real treat for a handyman like Skybs. It always tickles their jellies.

Skybs has a longstanding working relationship with Timberwolf Reclamation & Demolition, often being hired to work on the Ermine. Pixel is Timberwolf's primary engineer but he is fairly young and more acquainted with Neptunian starship technology, where the Ermine is a Martian craft. Bryce will frequently contract Skybs to assist with maintenance so Pixel can develop a better understanding of new systems, and so Bryce can be sure a complex job is done correctly. Skybs has made a few passes on the Ermine making the electrical linework more efficient, reducing overall power consumption and closing up interference leaks in communications lines. Skybs also performs maintenance on the two hydraulic arms that keep the Ermine in business, ensuring its seals aren't eroding and their fluid levels are correct. After a visit from Skybs the Ermine always runs like a dream, Mahnoor and Jack in particular are always excited to try it out once a service call is complete.

Bryce pays well for Skybs's assistance, and while they're in the Timberwolf hangar Bryce loves to talk sports with the handy Caelian. He's never direct about it, never like "who do you got for the big game?" Bryce will usually say something he knows isn't quite true, like how he likes the Southwood Bombers for the big game, how a star Android player always performs really well against Callistan defense- Skybs will put their tools down to correct him. A United droid typically plays well into a Callistan defensive line, but the Bombers' star player is an Aoba droid and they tend to get eaten alive by the Starlights' Callistan wall. Bryce nods, mmm... you're right, he'll say. They'll keep chatting, Skybs will finish their job, Bryce will pay the invoice with a handsome tip and the Caelian handyman heads off to their next appointment. Bryce hits up the bookies shortly after; a little friendly conversation and the Ermine's service job pays for itself.
