Grup is a Europan resident of Titan Garden and a member of the Titan Dockworkers Union. They are a mid-level security officer tasked with enforcement of regulation and loss prevention and they take their duties very seriously. Grup likes to style themselves after the Europan hunting tradition, regarding crooks, thieves, crimers and ne'er-do-wells as their quarry. They have a small team of security agents under their command and during their shifts they patrol the dockyards diligently on the lookout for crimes in progress they can jump on and thwart. Klaus occasionally has to work with Grup when he is closing the book on a person of interest but will otherwise not involve the Europan in his investigations. Grup has been actively pursuing Mitsuko for a long time but they have thus far been unsuccessful in their efforts.

Europan evo suits come in many shapes and styles, and Grup chooses to use a very large model with thick armor plating and high torque to cut a more intimidating figure. They have outfitted their suit with a large pincer claw capable of being launched great distances using pneumatic pressure and a retractable cord- they saw Amy use her prosthetic's grappling hook once and took the idea for themselves. They call this addition the "crook hook" and will fire it at suspects they chase through the back alleys and side streets of the dockyards and it hurts pretty bad to get pinched by it, but it's within regulation so they're allowed to keep using it. Grup keeps a control device on their belt which allows them to aim and fire their Crook Hook remotely when they are outside their suit.

Red Raven's own Slug knows Grup from when they were young, and they always get a little sour when the security officer comes around. Slug comes from the Europan hunting tradition that includes conservation of the wildlife beneath the moon's thick ice and eating what they hunt. Grup hunts for the sake of hunting, to collect trophies and stories and not as a participant in any greater cycle, so Slug regards Grup as a bully masquerading as something worthy of respect. They're not warmly regarded when they come around Red Raven.

It was Grup's security team who chased down Mitsuko the night she vaulted a fence and fell into the Red Raven nest. After being invited to buzz off by the captain and being informed their quarry was under protection of the doctor, Grup sent their team off to search the rest of the dockyard lane, but they themselves found a back alley, took in a lungful of water, hid their suit and headed back to Red Raven, crawling into their hangar through a vent in the ceiling. They watched the crew take care of Mitsuko, overhearing their warnings about security's watchful eye. There were too many of them for Grup to make a move, but they took in what they could from the rafters and slipped back away into the rainy station night.

Grup couldn't catch Mitsuko in the act that night but they are always keeping a watchful eye out for the Aoba android, and they've put the tow company on their list of quarry as well. They've brought the name Red Raven up with a few of their friends and contacts, and while they could never get any substantial kind of dirt on the crew, there was one person who took an interest in what Grup knew about Red Raven. Or more specifically, their pilot. The Delta android. Someone's got a stake in knowing more about her. Grup didn't have much to share from their first encounter, but now they've got a couple good reasons to keep tabs on the Red Raven office, they're motivated to become a regular nuisance for the whole crew.

Klaus is an old Martian who has lived on Titan a long time. As a member of the Titan Dockworkers Union, he works as the dockyards' Detective. As the primary gateway into and out of Titan Garden the dockyards see a lot of less-than-lawful dealings going on, and as the dockyard detective Klaus's job isn't to stop those dealings from happening- that is impossible- but rather to limit and contain them. Klaus is a gentle older man who never raises his voice or points an accusing finger. He is very observant and intuitive, however, and will softly imply that he sees something going on that maybe shouldn't ought to be seen, is all.

Klaus doesn't believe in carceral punishment and instead prefers to tell people if he saw them, someone else might see them, and to make sure they don't get caught again. A lot of younger folks and hard-earning workers run through the dockyards and they don't need the complications of dealing with the space brig- Klaus knows this well as he used to work the docks himself. In fact, he still wears his old Titan Dockworkers jacket, its colors faded with age. He maintains a quiet respect with older and younger dockhands alike, as he came up with a lot of the older crew and the younger guys know he always tries to be fair. They all know that when Old Klaus comes snooping around their hand is a bit too clearly in the cookie jar; some of them quit while they're ahead and others just get smarter about their operations.

That kind of quiet and gentle demeanor doesn't mean Klaus is a passive moderator, far from it. He's not out to bust up the little guys but he loves to bag himself a big fish. Saturn is something of a frontier space and every now and then some business interest from another world thinks they can muscle in and have their way with Titan's little hub colony, and it's always a rude awakening when Old Klaus shows up to start asking pointed questions. Titan Garden's got an ecosystem and the people with power who don't respect that tend to find themselves in a whole heap of trouble very far away from home. Baxler is a great example to the contrary, as a very high-profile fence for criminal wares they operate an extremely tight ship and don't tolerate any foolishness from any of their partners for this precise reason. Klaus knows well enough about Baxler's operation and the two share pleasant words quite often, with Klaus letting Baxler know if and when one of their partners is acting out of line, and that's usually enough to nip that problem in the bud. Other business owners have not been so wise as Baxler and Klaus loves to topple their towers of cards.

If Klaus knows about Baxler Distribution Company's operations, he definitely knows about Red Raven and Timberwolf. The one has all these random ships pass through their hangar and tends to be out of the office in the days before Interpol's back channels light up about some big shot's treasures or some corporate secrets going missing, and the other is literally a Baxler Distribution Company partner who doesn't have a hand in the transport of preparation of Baxler's primary business, perishable goods. The key to their success would be the both of them maintaining a nonviolent approach to their illicit side jobs- they don't hit little guys and they don't hurt no one else, so as long as they don't bring heat down on Titan there's no need to douse their flames. Klaus will still keep them honest, however, popping in to poke around and, you know, just see how they're doing. Oh, and, just as an aside, he'd heard from Interpol that while you were out someone lifted a shipment of very important data cartridges from a freightliner and Horizon's executives are furious, so you might want to keep an eye on your own cargo when you're out and about. It's usually enough to put that little bit of pressure on the two salvage companies; rather than throw a perfectly good tow crew in the brig you make sure they keep their cutting edge sharp enough to not make a mess of your station. A couple wolves are good for the ecosystem, after all.

Gyllber is a Caelian member of the Titan Dockworkers Union, serving as the station's master shipbreaker and director of deep space salvage operations. In essence, Gyllber is the person who grants salvage companies licenses to operate as extensions of their own authority and, importantly, allows them to dock their cool spaceships inside the Garden dome itself instead of docking out in Old Titan Station. Gyllber is a jovial fellow, they love a good joke and will frequently try to work their own best attempts at one into a conversation- laughter is good for the jellies, after all! Despite this fun and friendly demeanor it is surprisingly difficult to actually get a salvage license out of them, even if your paperwork is correct and in order. With so many ships flying out of so many worlds its more important than ever to keep space free of hand-made debris; salvage work can be fun and adventurous but it's a very dangerous job, so if Gyllber doesn't think you got the jellies for it they're going to save someone else the trouble of scooping up your own eventual shipwreck.

There are generally three fates for every starship in the Sol system: they end up in the used ship market, they end up a space wreck or they end up in the master shipbreaker's drydock. When a ship survives to the end of its service life and is decommissioned it gets carefully deconstructed, broken cleanly down into its component parts and distributed to be recycled into many other things. While shipwreck salvaging is often a rough and tattered job in deep space, Gyllber's work is very clean and precise, done in brightly-lit gravity-controlled hangars with the aim of saving as much of the decommissioned ship as possible. Gyllber directs a team at their drydock but they like to tackle the job themselves as well, wielding an 2XL Breach Cutter like a surgeon's scalpel. A ship ending up under this cut is generally considered the best possible ending, as it is indicative of a long and fruitful service life and a transition into something new.

Gyllber and Lamp are close friends and are informally regarded as the alpha and omega of Titan's starship industry. Lamp will usually keep a shortlist of useful things she needs for her new starship builds and Gyllber will be sure to procure them from their decommissioning work- in fact, a lot of the raw material Gyllber recovers gets recycled into the hulls of Lamp's ship designs. It's a great circle of life, preventing Titan Garden from producing an excess of material waste in an environment where resources can be pretty scarce if they're not carefully managed. The two Outer Belt denizens will often spend time together when they're not on the clock, enjoying a drink at a café and sharing stories with each other. It's a good vibe all around.

While Gyllber's salvage licensing rules can be fairly cryptic, renewing those licenses is relatively straightforward. There is some small amount of documentation review, to check that you've been actually working over the past year, but ultimately their license renewal process boils down to a day at the drydocks. Gyllber asks that the captains of Titan's salvage companies spend a day doing the grunt work of decommissioning a ship- they want to be sure that no captain is a sideline director, that they themselves can perform the duties of a shipbreaker safely and effectively. It's not glamorous work but it is critically important to keep metal debris out of collision course with other ships- saving lives, preventing more debris from accumulating and just overall being good custodians of the shared space of the Sol system- so if a captain isn't able or willing to do the work themselves there's plenty other crews looking to procure a license and do the job instead. Bryce hates renewal day, he got the Ermine specifically for that big arm and laser cutter so he didn't have to bend down and do all his breach cutting by hand. Amy, on the other hand, loves renewal day. For her it's a fun day to go out and solve a really big puzzle with her machinepilled devilbrain. Bryce swears he applied for his license on a different day than Amy, but the two are always called in for renewal at the same time. The truth is, Gyllber fudges their renewal schedules on purpose. The two captains do professional work, but sticking them together and watching them squabble, well, that's just really good for the jellies.

Buck is an android member of the Titan Dockworkers Union and foreman of the Port Construction Crew, the team responsible for development of new buildings or renovation of existing structures in and outside the dockyards. A very by-the-books sort of foreman, Buck operates on a measure-thrice, cut-once philosophy and believes that a poorly-planned job will only require more complicated future jobs to correct. He does also believe that stressed workers make preventable errors so while he is strict on safety he does not enforce heavy efficiency standards onto worker output on the clock. As a result, Buck's team completes jobs on a reasonable timeframe to a high safety standard; he doesn't guarantee speedy results but he ensures clients that their work will stand on its own for a very long time. He enjoys a good and trusting relationship with his workers but he will excuse anyone whose conduct endangers the safety of their peers.

Buck was manufactured by United Robotics Corporation, a Terran company who specializes in designing androids equipped for work in heavy industry. United Robotics androids are the most rugged of all makes, standing seven feet tall on average and being built from tungsten-alloy steel, they come equipped with high-torque joints and rounded exterior paneling meant to resist heavy impacts. The hallmark of the United Robotics design is their unique head shape- optic sensors are set inside a heavy-cladded cylinder set inside a high collar which can rotate side-to-side for a full 360 degree view and duck down into the collar to protect their sensor array from debris or damage. The collar itself sits on a pivot capable of sliding forwards or backwards, which when combined with the rotational axis of their head unit allows them a surprising range of visual articulation. Their head unit sinking down or perking up combined with the dimming or brightening of their optics makes them surprisingly expressive as well, able to easily communicate their state of mind to fellow worker.

United androids were originally developed to fill the niche of the Martian CX-Unit line after they were banned from continued production. Buck's line comes equipped to make construction work easy and natural. His finger units are large and each has their own individual motor to allow even distribution of pressure and an ability to lift and hold steady very heavy materials. In the center of each hand is a plasma welder Buck can use to weld metal fixtures into place as they're held steady without the need to juggle an exterior tool. While he's been promoted to PCC foreman he still enjoys the act of creation and tries to work hands-on with his team as much as he can, as his paintjob's many scuff marks tell the story of a long career. His crew is a mix of android and organic workers, so as much as he likes to get his hands dirty his duties as foreman take precedence, primarily to ensure the well-being of his squishier workers.

When Buck isn't on the clock he likes to explore his creative inclinations through woodworking and metal sculpture. The metal sculpture part is easy, as his construction sites often have leftover material he can work with and the Grizzly Bear Scrapyard offers so much more beyond that. Buck's metal sculptures emphasize motion and balance, using abstract shapes to express memories from his data files in physical form; they come out looking weird in a compelling way. Woodworking is Buck's other passion, and is a bit harder to pursue since the wood materials he needs tend to need to be imported from off-world. Buck's woodworking attempts to capture his impressions of organic creatures from his perspective as an inorganic construct. Whatever the subject or medium, Buck's sculptures are quite popular around Titan Garden. His pieces can be found all over, in Red Raven or Timberwolf's offices but particularly so in Grizzly John's home. Buck is happy to hear people enjoy his work so much. He finds peace in building things, whether they're for a job or for himself, so his life on Titan has been very fulfilling.
