The whole "we should run an interurban on the old BCER line" thing would almost make sense if it got double-tracked and electrified the whole way, with branches to Walnut Grove, Mission, and Cultus Lake.

Yes, I'm saying "let's throw several billion dollars at building the first at-grade SkyTrain line", but it'd just be so, so funny to give the Rail for the Valley nerds their dream of reactivating the BCER service, all while doing it with the one technology they hate most.
(Also, the operational advantages of sharing rolling stock with the Expo and Millennium Lines would be considerable. That, and it's a good technology! It's made to handle tight turns and steep grades well! And with that much capacity, the provincial government could get away with starting to actively disincentivise car use even out into the Fraser Valley!)
