might i suggest looking at pathfinder 2e if you want a bigger name d20 system.

I suspect it and critical role are the reasons hasbro is trying so hard to close the open gaming license. They gotta pad out that 150 million dollars in d&d profit by wringing out its biggest competitor who made.......

checks notes

12 million dollars

PF2e is my favourite version of D&D, and I've played most editions. If you really want a D&D, it's got my endorsement.

If you want something fresh to take a break from D&D... have you heard of Hard Wired Island?

Lancer's pretty cool too. I've had a ton of fun with Legacy: Life Among the Ruins, also. There's a whole wealth of experiences to try once you broaden your horizons past the walled garden that is D&D.

Ah yeah, ICON looks rad! I have an idea for a harvester ready to go if I ever get into a game.

I really do think HWI is worth a look even if you're not usually into cyberpunk. Partly because it's an overtly leftist view on the genre full of humour and queer as hell. Partly because the mechanics are a thing of beauty and people need to be inspired by them to make hacks for other settings.

I made an Enochian for a campaign that never came to fruition (like all our games lmfao) and I really want to start it back up. But my table voted Humblewood so I have to stick with 5e for at least a little longer.

I'll check out HWI more. Maybe i can get my table to have interest in it. They tend to be way more fantasy oriented

It's pretty rad. I had been working on some ideas for "what if TTJRPG but focused on story instead of mechanical emulation" for a bit and then tripped over that in market research and was like "oh well, I guess someone already did that better than I got time for."
