Recently saw reports that YouTube may put 4K videos behind a Premium pay wall on top of limiting the number of videos that can be watched if an ad blocker is detected.

It's important for Google to make free money off of the labor of others and paywall content in a way that's a detriment to people who rely on making videos for a living, because it makes a line go up (for Google), and it's good when the line goes up (for Google).

So Windows users absolutely should not download MPC-HC, then download yt-dlp, and, finally, download the ffmpeg package for Windows. Under no circumstances should the yt-dlp and ffmpeg executables be placed in the MPC-HC directory.

It is forbidden for people to copy the URL of the video they want to watch in to File > Open File/URL in MPC-HC where they can optionally use Save a Copy to download the video to their PC.

Do not do any of those things, because without walling off viewership to sell a product that directly benefits Google instead of the people who made the platform what it is, how will Google make their money?
